(In the Middle of My) Love Machine Should you get caught In the middle of my love machine Get out while you can Before you fall in love with me I’m a lonely, crazy boy In search of something to destroy I can’t wait And I am so impatient too I’m on fire; A furnace when it comes to you I’m a lonely, crazy boy In search of something to destroy I’m a lonely, crazy boy In search of something to destroy You are everything I want except mine You are everything I want except mine You are everything I want except mine You are everything I want except mine Laying in the sun A garden party, constantly Laying in the sand You can’t keep away from me I’m a lonely, crazy boy In search of something to destroy You are everything I want except mine You are everything I want except mine You are everything I want except mine You are everything I want except mine

Over the Rails Stunned all around Stoned to the ground I know I’m not the prettiest one, But it’s time to go down Covered in sound Cher and Dionne I know I’m not the prettiest one, But it’s time to move on So how ‘bout we just figure this out ‘Cause we’re doing it wrong I know that normally I try to keep you honest And maybe this time I’m the one who should get on it Sometimes I think this is A battle with no winner, Only a momentary weakness With no sinner Another toke, a stare, And here I go and do it again Over the rails Hot on our tails I know I’m not the prettiest one But I don’t always fail I haven’t felt a feeling this strong Since before I could tell I know that normally I try to keep you honest And maybe this time I’m the one who should get on it Sometimes I think this is A battle with no winner Only a momentary weakness With no sinner Another toke, a stare, And here I go and do it again

Wanderlust 03:02
Wanderlust I spent the evening simply staring out the window Tired of dreaming that one day I’ll go out there alone Get on a boat and head back to the mainland Hop on a plane and fly back to where I came from I know you’re not the kind to fall in love You couldn’t understand the culture of One day you know, you might change your mind I get the feeling there’s a devil in the details A wanderlust and a selection of nude males I teleport in my mind, I’m at the beach, wow A tennis court and I’m never gonna leave now I know you’re not the kind to fall in love You couldn’t understand the culture of One day you know, you might change your mind You never know, I might fall in love Assimilate into the culture of Get out of debt and marry a good friend

Magic Wand 03:23
Magic Wand I wake up and I go to work I wake up and I go to work And some days I don’t feel I can control my style I like to get up in your face I like to get up in your face But I can keep my distance if you’re not so wild Now let’s all lock into the groove Now let’s all lock into the groove Some things we shouldn’t do with out a magic wand Why are you so scared of my politic? Why are you so scared of my politic? I’m off to cross that line again I’m off to cross that line again I never shy away from volatile debate My mouth will not control itself My mouth will not control itself My mind is at the wheel and it will drive all night In theory, you may find me vague In theory, you may find me vague But one thing I will say is you may change your mind Why are you so scared of my politic? Why are you so scared of my politic? And when we dress up like a party band And take a field trip with our hands Cerebral bodies in a cargo van An open ocean with no sign of land

I’m Not Your Enemy Say what you need to say, whisper it softly Traded your man away for a martini And at the end of the night you’ll never get him back Ever the optimist, how has he trained you? Does he protect you from his bouts of weakness? And at the end of the night does he still have your back? You’re too on top of the other one half of the time I’m not your enemy but still you hate that I did some things for me and don’t regret that And at the end of the night I still sleep all alone You’re too on top of the other one half of the time We’re too on top of the other one half of the time

I Miss the Heat of the Sun As I trip forward to the end of time Double flip over when I get excited Everything I choose It’s like my ego only wants what’s best for you Everything I do turns out to be The thing my ego wanted too I miss the heat of the sun Metamorphosing all of my heart through Savoring the time when I adored you Paralyzing everything that I do I could strike, throw a punch though I could hardly land it Pick a fight, when my ego can no longer stand it Everything I do, It’s like my ego only wants what’s best for you I miss the heat of the sun Metamorphosing all of my heart through Savoring the time when I adored you Hanging back, the sun still beaming towards you Paralyzing everything that I do You’re not the only one that I can’t lie to You’re not the only one that I can’t lie to…

about

It's been a long long time since the release of 2013's Cinematesque Part 1.

From 2013 to 2015, I continued creating and quietly releasing the singles that would comprise Cinematesque Part 2, but never, did I put them in sequence and complete "the album", until now. And with, the exciting new cover image by the talented Stephen Quirk (Factory Portland), this release is finally ready to be consumed in its entirety.

These songs were recorded while spending two years traveling back and forth from one edge of the U.S. to another. You can hear the faint sounds of the Pacific Ocean on a few of the vocal tracks if you listen closely (especially on Over the Rails). Tremendous pleasure, guilt, panic, and a return to reality are capped off with glorious nostalgia, a healthy dose of lament, eternal love, and ultimate surrender.

Or, you can think of it as another collection of headphone-centric recordings designed to keep you entertained as you head out for a nice long walk...

After all, fiction and fantasy are just parallel realities.
